Creamy Berry Smoothie

Smoothies are popular for breakfast. This creamy berry smoothie has the perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat, and will keep you satisfied until your next meal. It is nutrient rich and supports muscle health, the berries add antioxidants and the whey provides a burst of protein. 

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup chopped apple or pear
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (whey)

Combine berries, water, yogurt, banana, avocado and walnuts in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. If necessary, add more water to reach desired consistency.

Alternatives: Use low fat milk or coconut milk instead of water and yoghurt.
